Established in 1946, Bali Dhanamani Model High School (H.S.) is one of the oldest and most esteemed educational institutions on Bali Island, situated at Bali, P.O. Bali Hatkhola, P.S. Gosaba, District South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Nestled in the rural coastal region of the Sundarbans, the school has been a centre of learning, discipline, and character building for nearly eight decades.
A Government-Sponsored institution recognized by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE), the school has consistently worked towards providing quality education to students from all sections of society. Guided by the principles of the Right to Education (RTE), the institution welcomes learners irrespective of caste, creed, religion, gender, or economic background, fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
With a dedicated team of 16 qualified teachers and 2 non-teaching staff members, the school strives to provide holistic education that nurtures academic excellence, creativity, discipline, leadership, and social responsibility.
Academically, the school has continually embraced progress and innovation. It offers Geography and Biology at the Higher Secondary level and proudly became the first school on Bali Island to introduce Biology with a fully equipped laboratory, enabling students to gain practical scientific knowledge. Since 2018, ICT-enabled classrooms have enhanced digital learning, preparing students for a technology-driven world.
The school maintains a well-stocked library containing nearly 1,000 books, encouraging reading habits and independent learning. It has also introduced Open Schooling under Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya, providing a second opportunity for school dropouts and students unable to qualify in the Madhyamik or Higher Secondary examinations to continue their education.
Student welfare remains one of the institution's highest priorities. Economically disadvantaged students receive free or studentships. In addition, since 2 January 2025, selected meritorious students from financially weaker backgrounds have been receiving specialized academic coaching, study materials, school uniforms, and nutritious meals through the Peerless Trinity Scholarship Programme, implemented under the patronage of Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur, Lokasiksha Parisad, in collaboration with Peerless Investment Co. Ltd.
The school strongly believes that education extends beyond textbooks. Students actively participate in sports, music, dance, drawing, cultural programmes, and various extracurricular activities. Regular Karate training, conducted in collaboration with Shaktirupena, promotes self-defence, discipline, confidence, and physical fitness.
As part of its commitment to student safety and social awareness, the school conducts weekly online awareness programmes in collaboration with the Canning Circle Police Authority, educating students on personal safety, cyber awareness, and protection from anti-social influences.
